IP Address changing

I am experiencing a problem with out HP 4M+ network printer changing its IP address and causing the server printer definition file to have a different IP address for the printer. When this happens I have to reset the IP address on the server's printer definition file to match the on showing up on the self test on the printer itself. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix it? We have experienced this problem three times over a period of 8 weeks.
If the printer has been reset to factory defaults, the jetdirect settings are also reset. I've noticed that the jetdirect cards I've gotten lately default to use DHCP. This means they receive their IP address from the network every time they're powered on. Using the HP Jetadmin software, you can disable DHCP and assign it an IP address. It shouldn't change again after that unless the printer is again reset to factory defaults. If this doesn't fix the problem, you may have a defective jetdirect.
