6L Scanner

Was just going to replace the paper pickup feed with one of your kits. Then the printer sucked 1/4" of paper through, which, of course, promptly jammed. I managed to pull everything out.
Replaced the feed rollers/pickup pad per the video. Now, get a service error; the LEDs translate as "scanner" and the host interface feedback also says "scanner".
You have scanner replacement kits, w/ video? How $$$?
Or, given your view in the forum on 6Ls, should I trash it and go for an 1100 or s/g? I've run 20+ reams of paper through it and am on the third toner cartridge.
When you did the pad replacement, you disconnected 2 connectors going to the scanner assembly. I would check them carefully to make sure you seated them properly and didn't bend any pins doing so. The one on the bottom right is a bit tricky to get on right. Before you go buying a scanner assembly you don't need, check the connectors first.

Ok, I checked out the scanner connectors. The shorter one didn't seem to be fully seated, so I got out my 4-lb sledge and cold chisel...
Actually, I trimmed a bit of flashing off the wire connector and it seated all the way in. Everything appears to be coping esthetically.
Thanks for your help.
