personal laserwriter 300

Hi, I have a personal laserwriter 300 and I remember when I first got it it seemed to power up. However I have not tried it for some time and now when I plug it in I get no lights to light up except when the cover to replace the toner cartridge is open. I also dont hear it powering up anymore and am wondering if anyone knows why. I also would appreciate if someone could direct me to a detailed online tech guide with pics of course for this printer as I would like to get it working. Thanks for you time

[email protected] PS. yes I have a mac performa 6300 with os 8.5 and have set it up correctly. I believe the printer may be dead but hope not =(
That problem would be a paper jam in the rear or a false paper jam.

Hi, after completely disassembling the printer and making sure it was but back together properly I did have some more luck. The printer now communicates with the computer! however the fan doesn't come on and i can't print because it says there is a paperjam which there really isn't so I have yet to see if it will actually print. Any info on how I can get past this fake paper Jam hurdle? Thanks for your time

I got a used Personal LaserWriter NTR. After clearing a terrible paper jam right where the paper emerges I was somehow (been several months, forget details) able to get it to very clearly print two pages that look like the cover of a manual (Identified the primter by model number and had icons that look like serial cable ends, SCSI cable ends, etc) and also have page counts of only 166 and 167. I have no software or drivers for it, have tried LaserWriter 8, no joy. I was trying it with my Quadra 950, OS 7.5.5. Have not been able to get any more output. All the lights seem to be working correctly, ie: the same as the lights on a friend's PLW LW NT.
Whats up?

Newbie here,

I've had so little problem with this printer that I don't know how to fix the smallest thing. There is a paper jam -- I can see it when I open the rear door. I can grab the end of the sheet easily, but I can not pull it loose. If I pull any harder it will tear. If there is a release button, I can't find it.

Inside the rear door, there is a green button at the top left. Do I push it? Pull it? Pull it down? Pull it up? I can't figure it out.

Thank you for your assistance.

The green "button" is a release lever that takes the pressure off so you can pull the paper out. If you look at it, there is a triangle symbol pointing upwards.

I tried it; I pushed up on the lever, but the paper won't budge. Thanks for trying, though
