Canon Canon Color Bubblejet (BJC) 6000

Another problem I'm having with Canon BJC 6000

When it gets ready to print, the paper in the tray goes forward to where it comes out in the tray (in the front), then it goes back up to the paper tray (in the back) and then it repeats this series AGAIN! This didn't happen when I first got this printer. It's like it needs to "feel" the paper before it will print for lack of a better way to explain it. Weird! Thanks for your help! BTW, we have uninstalled the printer and re-installed it only to have it do these same two things.
My BJC 7000 does the same thing once in a while - it is to do with the sensing of the leading edge of the paper... and it could also be compounded by how you're printing to the machine (graphics, draft, etc...)
