Epson WF 3520 and the fake paper jam

Dear community,

like the titlw suggests I am getting one of those famous fake 'paper jam' error on my Epson Workforce 3520.

For the past 2 days I've been searching how to fix this, but I am unable to find anything.

I am absolutely sure that there is no paper jammed anywhere.
I tried to push and pull on gears, notches, and all the things I could find.

The one and only problem that I could find is something I can hardly describe since I am lacking the proper terminology even in my first language.

There is this sort of rectangular white piece with some gears and wheels, I took a picture that you can see here: =0

I flipped the printer sideways so I could take a photo of the bottom, whereas I removed the duplex thing and the paper tray beforehand.

My guess is that thing 1 needs to drop onto the paper in the paper tray (so the grey gears touch the uppermost paper) in order to transport it through the printer.

However, it does not drop.

I tried to press the same part as the paper tray does inside the printer, so it would at least try to print, but still it says paper jam error.

I also tried pressing everything around too. Thing 3 is kind of hard to push down, and is queeking a tiny bit when doing so. If thing 3 is pushed down, thing 1 drops by itself too. If I turn thing 2 all the gears turn freely.

Is there any way to fix this? Please help :(
