Hp HP LaserJet 2420DN

HP LJ 2420DN feed issue

Replaced the maintenance kit and the new tray 2 pick up roller did not want to line up. I finally got it to line up and printer feed multiple pages (3) with the first one stopping 1/2 way into output bin, second one just clearing transfer roller, and third one just starting to feed from tray.
This happens with or without the toner cartridge installed and on start up. Wondering if the tray 2 pick up solenoid is sticking causing the feed issue.
Any input would be appreciated.

Sure sounds like a solenoid issue. Is the second sheet blank? That would confirm it.

Thanks for the quick response Moe.

All pages are blank even with toner installed - they come out during initialization so I figured it was the solenoid. Jams before anything can actually print which is frustrating to say the least.

Not really looking forward to tearing it all the way down for the solenoid...lol.

Took printer down and checked the tray 2 solenoid and the locking arm had slipped off of the alignment studs on solenoid (not a good design in my opinion).

Realigned the locking arm on solenoid and put printer back together...working like a champ now!

Thanks for your input Moe. :o)
