Epson Epson Stylus Photo 1400

Epson 1400 printing slows down 30min for one print

I have a Copytrax Davinci 6-6 CD printer which is an Epson 1400 that has been modified with a CISS system and A3 CD tray (the printer no longer prints on paper).

The problem I'm having is that the printer will do 1 print at the correct speed (3 min), thereafter the printer slows down to between 15 to 30 min for a single print. The quality and colour is fine and the printer doesn't give any visual errors although it will stop printing 3/4 of the way through, the driver settings are correct and not set to any slow options (I run 5 of these machines), I get the same issue even if the printer is run from another PC.

I have access to the Epson service software and the error it gives me is CR drive motor error 0x02 or 0x00, so far I've replaced the CR motor (twice) and the main board, I have also dumped the EEPROM data and replaced it with data from another machine that works fine.

Does anyone have any idea what else could cause the printer to slow down after 1 print and then stop?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Printing service is given awesome.
