Hp HP LaserJet 4

HP Laserjet 9050dn

I have a customer that has a HP LJ 9050dn. Recently it has started throwing an error 41.03.00 error and also 13.32 or a 13.05. Most of the problems seen have been when printing from tray 4. Occasionally, the print pauses and then resumes but the middle of the page (top to bottom)has a 3/4" wrinkle in it.

I was thinking that perhaps the vertical paper registration assy was causing it but then after getting on site with the new part, I found out that it was doing a similar thing from tray 2 as well on occasion.

Time to replace the PIU or the registration assy? There is also a duplexer in the system and I don't recall if the paper is getting wrinkled on the first pass or the second pass.

Any suggestions folks? I might add that this printer is covered under an HP CarePack so I'm not too concerned about part cost. The main issue is that the customer is approximately 60 miles away so I have to get it right the first time.

I had a similar issue with a 9050DN the 41.03 error and 13.xx(several different places). I changed out Fuser, MK, toner, trays, and duplexer unit with other 9050DN's on site but still received same error.

After and hour and a half on phone with HP and 3 months of frustration they sent a replacement dupxer unit - problem went away and no trouble since.

If under wty. replace the duplexer. also, check the fuser and toner to make sure they are in good shape and not near end of life.

I would replace the registration assy
I have known this to cause jamming and 41.3 errors more often from tray 4 than trays 2 and 3 for some reason, possibly tray 4 runs at a different speed.
also check that the paper feed plate between the transfer roller and the fuser is seated properly, sometimes it can stick up at the rear of the printer and cause jams. just push down on it with your fingers.
but I suspect the main problem is the registration assy.
good luck !
