Old HP4 printing black and grey streaks
My old workhouse has a problem, I've looked through the forums and "think" it might be a fuser, but not sure. Is there anywhere I can send a jpeg of a printed page? It is dark on both edges, with horizontal banding in all shades of grey. The toner doesn't seem to flake off. The page content prints. No feed issues. Thanks in advance.
You have a bad toner cartridge. Banding is caused by worn wiper blade. Dark edges are a worn drum. There are new OEM toner cartridges available in the cartridges link at the top of the page.
So I have a worn drum too? Any way to send a pic? I've never worked on a printer before, is the drum hard to replace?
The drum is inside the toner cartridge and is part of the replacement toner cartridge. All you need to do is put in the new toner cartridge nothing else.
duh...lol. Thanks for responding to true newbie question! Will give it a go!
