HP LJ 4+ 41.2 Error
Hi everyone,
Thank you for the great forum, it has been a great help to me.
But now I have a LJ 4+ that is giving a 41.2 error. I have done everything suggested here, cleaning, reseating connections and all other suggestions.
I have 3 printers as you can see by my profile, but I do love this one it has been a real work horse with over 150000 prints so far. My question is since I have done everything else, is there something that I need to replace such as scanner or DC?
I really do not want to see this thing go to recycling so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading!

That's a beam detect problem. I don't know what exactly you cleaned, but you need to get a dry cotton swab and clean every reflective surface and prism inside the laser scanner assy. That includes the spinning mirror assy.
Thank you for answering Moe!
I cleaned the scanner assembly -- a couple times in fact.... I removed it and used a swab to clean the inside (very carefully!) and made sure that everything closed correctly.
Do you think that something like a contact cleaner (no residual of course) would help?
I have some of that lying around and was thinking of trying that to see if that would help. If it doesn't I guess a new scanner assembly may be in order.
But as I stated before I would really hate to get rid of this it has been such a great work horse.

Did you try another toner cartridge. They sometimes can cause the error. If you did I would suggest replacing the laser/scanner, followed by the dc controller.
Thank you for the reply!
I didn't know that the cartridge could cause this error. I will replace it as soon as I can.
