Hi All,
I'm not sure if what i'm trying to do is even possible, but when your stuck in the middle of no-where with very little access to parts (Can take weeks/months to get here) you do what you have to, to get hardware working again :)
A few months ago, we had a HP 6040 that stopped dead with the tray 2 lifter motor failure error. It took about 4 months, but we finally got a brand new lifter motor from HP and I got the printer going again.
Now I have another 6040 which has failed with the same problem. i'm hoping that it may be possible to repair the lifter motor rather then having to wait another 4 months for gear/parts to arrive here
I still have the first broken lifter motor - nothing appears to be obviously wrong with it, apart from a bit of dirt on it.
I'd be extremely grateful for any help that anyone might be able to provide
Thanks
Adam
