Hp HP Color LaserJet 2840

"To cheat the 2840 image drum just pry the chip off of one of your empty toners and swap it out with the chip from your imaging drum. The printer will recognize it as a "Non HP Supply" and bypass the page count, allowing you to continue to use the drum. The chips are simple to remove, just gently pry one edge up while using moderate pressure. They are held on by double sided tape so just press the new chip in place when the old is removed.. Viola!"

I just want to say how easy this was to do. I used a thin straight screwdriver and pried up from the middle of the chip (slowly) as there was a groove to get under the chip there. I now get a constant ORDER SUPPLIES message, but it prints perfectly. So, save your old toner cartidge chips(maybe label them as to what they were). Now I'm trying to figure out how to do this with the toner cartridges that say they are empty but I'm sure still have toner in them (especially the colour ones).

FYI: I found a set of 4 toner cartridge chips on Ebay for $8. Plan to buy them just to have them on hand.

Thanks again to lovelylady007!
