White lines, HP Officejet Pro 8500A

I've owned my HP Officejet Pro8500A for over a year. I rcently started using Cartridge World replacement cartridges instead of the HP ink cartridges because they are like hakf price. Initially I had no problem with them, but the printer can no longer read how much ink is in them and tell me when they're used up. I'm getting white lines across my test page (and some of the colors aren't printing properly). I always been able to "clean the printheads" and eventually, the problem got corrected, but this time it doesn't seem to work. Of course the printer is telling me I'm out of ink on 3 of the 4 cartridges, but when I take them out and shake them, it sounds like there's something in there. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem is or something else I should try?
Take the Yellow/Black head out and run hot water over the heads and blot dry with paper towel.
