Hp laserjet 2840 Scanned Docs Blurry

Hello Guys, I have an HP color laserjet 2840. It prints fine, but Scanned documents are not clear or blurry. I have cleaned the glass. Any help will be appreciated.
Are they also blurry using the Doc feeder?

Yes, It is blurry with or without the doc feeder. I can describe it has blurry, fuzzy or just not clear. It's almost like looking through dirty or wet glass.

Moe. Is there no solution to my Color Laserjet 2840 scanner problem? I have been on this site for 15 years and it's the first time this has happened to me. Yet, I still consider this site to be the best DIY printer site on the internet.

Only simple solution I can suggest would be cleaning the scanner mirrors. To do so put a document in the ADF feeder and start a copy. The scanner will move to the left and when it does, turn the printer off. Now remove the one screw in the small glass above the scanner and carefully take it off. With a cotton swab, clean the mirrors you can see in the scanner assy. and put it back together.

Thank you moe. I will try it tomorrow. Sounds like a good idea. I will post a reply afterwards.

Ok Moe, I did clean the scanner mirror with a Q-tip but there was no improvement. Any other suggestions. Thanks. John
