Hp HP LaserJet 4100

HP 4100 Lasejet w/Jet Direct

I am contemplating getting an HP 4100 laserjet with an HP Jetdirect card. My quandry is that evidently, HP does not have Win 7 drivers. I have been successful installing my HP 5 Laserjets using Centronics-USB cables as recommended. Is that my only option in this case?
The drivers are built into the windows 7 operating system. If not on the list just hit update button and when the screen repopulates they will be there. Your issue will be the usb to parallel cable as sometimes you need special drivers for the cable and need to know what port it is using on the computer.

Well, I followed your advise and bought a Sabrent USB-Centronics cable ($12 Walmart). The trick is to load the printer, assign it to a USB port THEN plug in the printer. Kinda like how HP installs new printers. In the old days, we would just connect the printer and then add it but Windows 7 doesn't like this for some reason.

Anyways, when you connect to a jetdirect card, are you still looking for (in this case) HP 4100 LaserJet or is there some other designation for the JetDirect card?
