Epson Epson LQ 800

Epson Artisan 800 Colors all wrong

A few weeks ago my Epson PX800 (artisan 800 in the US), all of the sudden got the colors all wrong. I seems like there is too much magenta in all the prints.
At first I tought it might be a blocked head or something, so I cleaned the heads, got a perfect nozzle check, but prints still wrong.
I replaced all the inks, that didn't work either.
I disconnected the printer from all computers/network and just tried to make a color copy with the build-in scanner: same problem.

I have no idea what to do next, it's just outside warranty and Epson UK wants to charge £65 (about $80) + shipping just to have a look at it.

Any help greatly appreciated!!

Niels, a few thoughts come to mind. Check and see whether any color adjustment has been made under the advanced settings in your printer driver software. If not, it is probably not good news. Most likely you are experiencing 1 of three defects. Either the cable connecting to the printhead or main board is not secure, or the printhead is failing, or the main board is failing. Hope this helps.
