Hp HP LaserJet 5P

HP5p fuser compatible in HP6mp?

I've got a bad fuser in a 6p I own.

Will an HP 5P fuser work, if I can find a 5p to pull one from? The fusers have different part numbers, but am hoping that I can find a cheaper 5p machine to swap-out the fuser from.

yes you can use the 5p but you will have to cutoff an allignment pin to make it fit.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply Frank!

Is the pin a pain to get to?

Also, how do I know if I need a 100/120 volt vs. 220/240 assembly and how do I know the difference by looking at a printer? Probably a stupid question, but I've seen different parts based on the voltage.

No the pin can be removed with a pair of side cutters -as far as voltage unless you get a hold of a european printer I wouldn't worry about it.
