HP Laserjet 6L

I have an old HP Laserjet 6L printer that was working fine until a storm lightning strike. I can print a test so I know it works. I changed cables and put it on another computer to test. I had my computer repair guy check it and he said there was something wrong with the cable connection at the printer. Like I said, I can push the test button on the printer and it will print out a test page nicely. I need to use this printer with a DOS based program for an older engraver so it needs to be attached through an engraver dongle switch that is not a USB but a cable connection. Can I change out the connector at the printer? Steve
You'll need to replace the formatter board.

Try to bake the formatter board first , if it still fails replace it.
I baked about four or five times before (all different formatter brard), it works for more than three times.
