How to disassemble Photosmart D7260?

I've loved HP printers for decades, but I'm extrememly annoyed at this point with HP for not letting me use ink cartidges I bought and own, in my HP printer which I paid for and own, because they decided to disable the printing function after a predetermined amount of ink expiration time. I'll avoid details. I'm sure people have heard the tune before.

It seems removing the printer's battery has succeeded in getting around this problem in other HP printers. But for the life of me, I can't get further than unscrewing 4 torx screws from this Photosmart D7260, and loosening 3 tabs on each side panel. I can push a screwdriver into the 2 square holes on each side and release those 4 top tabs. And I can release the side covers' tab (1 each) on the front bottom edge of the side covers. But something along both the front and rear edges of the side covers is still keeping them from releasing and swiveling around their bottom tabs that are set into the metal bottom plate.

Does anyone here have any idea what needs to be done here to get inside this beast? Any/all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does no one have any idea how to pull apart this printer?
