HP 2P envelope printing

Tried printing an envelope with my old HP 2P last night. Printed OK (with a little wrinkling), but it also sealed the envelope shut. Is this normal? Any way to successfully print envelopes, or do I need special envelopes???
You'd probably have much better results with laser printer envelopes... if you take a look at the HP LaserJet family media reference guide, there are some guidelines for corner construction (stops the wrinkling due to envelopes inflating whilst fusing) and temperatures that the glue needs to withstand...

2ps are notoriously bad envelope printers as are the HP2 and HP3 series. Heavier stock seems to help minimize the wrinkling and sealing problems. The best envelope printers are the newer HPs. They use fixing film instead of aluminum pressure rollers. This does away with the wrinkling and sealing problems.
