Hp HP DeskJet 1100

replacement cartridge causing printing problems

Hi, I have looked through for this problem. I have a very old hp laserjet 1100, an old faithful. When I replaced the last cartridge the printing started being very poor with ghosting of text under the main text on the page, and a dirty background. I tried several copies, but all the same. I replaced the cartridge with the old one again, and it was clear and fine, just a bit faded because not a lot of ink left. Can a new cartridge cause this problem?
Yes it can. Cartridges have a "shelf life" and if it is an old, new cartridge, you will get these results. Is the cartridge HP or compatable? When did you buy it? Changing your toner cartridge will surely cure your print problems.

Thanks Sue, it is an old new cartridge, as I have had it a long time, as they last so long. I will get another one.
