hp 2840 poorprint quality after carousel alignment

Hi, This printer came in printing only on right side of paper. The right carousel gear alignment was 1 tooth off. I aligned it & now the carousel frame is parallel with the rest of the printer & the toners remove & insert smoothly with no problems. However, the image is the full width and height of the page, but all of the lines of text, and the photo on the sample page show only the tops of each line of text, and the top of the photo. Example, if printing a capital A, the very top of the A shows up, but from above the horizontal bar to the bottom of the A the image fades out to nothing. This happens on all of the lines of text from the top of the page to the bottom. I disassembled again & checked the carousel alignment & it appears fine left & right. Was using a combo of non-HP, and HP toners. Now have all HP. Using a rebuilt drum-unknown vendor. The fact that the carousel stops properly at all colors to change toners makes me think that the drive assy is working properly. This problem is solid-each and every time. Any thoughts on this? All input appreciated. Hope this was not too long. jerry
Could be that both sides are the same distance but the alignment is off whereby the toner is to far from the drum. In the alignment there are two marks on the gear and a mark on the carousel and the mark on the carousel has to be between the mark on the gear on each side, not lined up with one of the gear lines but between the lines. Hope this makes sense.
