HP Color LaserJet 2840
HP Color Laserjet 2840
We recently replaced the cartridges in out 2840. Since then we only get yellow to print on part of the paper and some blue on a tiny portion. Any ideas?
I would check the electrical contacts on the toner Cartridges and where those touch indide the printer as well. If they are dirty or not making a good connection, that could be the problem
i have my hp 2840 which is saying replace drum i dont have enough money to buy the drum please advice on a cheaper way to repair it
If you lift up the drum, look on the top right. You will see a green chip. You have to replace that. That is the reset chip.
If you have an old toner cartridge remove the chip from that cartridge and put in place of the one on the drum and it may work.
I recently refilled several toners in a 2840. Printer was working fine after the re-fills. Printed about 10 pages. Several days later now it makes a quick grinding noise like the gears slipping (about 3 teeth worth with a 3 second humm after) and pulls the paper thru the printer to the exit tray. The paper has just a slight amount of text on top right corner. Toners all register on the LCD panel and I have a new ("HP compatible" probably re-manufactured) drum unit. Had to send the first one back so I am suspicious of the drum.
Seen a lot of those reman'd toners lock up and cause grinding and carousel misalignment. Have also heard the imaging unit make a lot of noise as well. You can duplicate it by manually rotating it. I think you can also remove the imaging unit and the printer will run for a bit until it realizes it's missing. Long enough for you to tell whether the noise is still there or not.
I've got an HP color Laserjet 2840 and it's only printing in black and white. All cartridges are still full. Message comes up saying "Replace Supply: Using Black Only" When I print the test page it does print in color??? All other pages print in Black and White. Help please.
I bought a refurbished printer drum for the HP Color Laser Jet 2840 when the printer said order drum. The printer is now saying "replace drum ". I did and it still says replace drum. Any ideas? I can't use the printer now.
If you turn the drum unit over, you'll see a chip below the green handle. That's what gives the message. You never know what you're getting with refurbished drums. Maybe they didn't replace the chip, maybe they put in a faulty one. Happens all the time.
