I have just bought a new drum assembly for this printer and after only a few weeks use an earwig fell in and became squashed on the selenium drum.
I have carefully removed the flattened insect but its bodily fluids are now stuck to the drum causing white areas when printing. I have carefully cleaned the drum with a camel hair artists brush which has reduced the white areas but cannot remove all debris. I suspect the surface is not damaged but just contaminated, as I do not wish to waste a £70 drum can anyone suggest a method of cleaning it please?
Best way to clean it is with a pure cotton pad like the ladies put makeup on with. Moisten one with alcohol and swab the area using firm pressure. Use another to very carefully clean and polish the area. You have to get rid of all the residue.
