HP LaserJet 5000 - Envelope printing issue

Hi All,

I have LaserJet 5000 printer that works completely fine when you print paper from one of the trays. I just tried printing regular envelopes from the the drop-down envelope feeder tray (tray 1) and they don't even seem to be pulling in.

The printer makes a clicking noise and I can see the little tray lifting the envelopes into the feeder inside, but they never get pulled in. Plus after a few tries it says there's a paper jam under the top cover which needs to be cleared.

This cover is the one that also allows you to change the toner cartridge. Once I open and close this cover, the jam clears.

What may be the issue? Can it be the roller or something else? Is it an easy fix? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex
Well, yes. Replace the MP P/U roller and the separation pad.
Lift up the green handle on the rregistration assy. and lift the black tabs on the roller shaft, sliding out. the roller rotates off. Prize up the pad to remove.
