HP LaserJet 4250dtn 9.5cm mark

Hi - sorry if this is not appropriate as I am new to this forum.
I have a HP LaserJet 4250dtn which is printing a recurring smudge/mark 9.5cm apart down the right hand side of the page, on every page, irrelevant of which of the 4 trays the paper comes from. The mark is fused and does not smudge. Can anyone tell me what roller or drum or other is the likely source

Only 2 things can cause it. The toner cartridge drum or the fixing film sleeve. Do a half-stop test. Feed it from the Manual feed tray. When the end of the paper just enters the printer, open the access door and remove the cartridge. Marks on paper - it's a bad cartridge. No marks - it's a bad fixing film sleeve.

Thanks Moe

It is the cartridge - is there anyway to clean the ?drum or do I need a new cartridge?

There is a wiper blade in the cartridge whose function is to clean the drum of waste toner. The line is caused by a defective wiper blade, much like a streaking windshield wiper. Only thing you can do is replace the toner cartridge.
