HP Color LaserJet 2840
HP 2840 Carriage Return Issue
Ive had trouble with my 2840 and the items its printing starting out with fine color, and then as it goes down the page, it gets less and less color. I had someone adjust the carriage return, they thought that was the problem, and it fixed it for about 50-60 copies. But now Im having the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this, or have any other ideas what's wrong? thanks.
So, I'm scratching my head wondering how you adjust the carriage return in a LaserJet printer. Last carriage return I saw was in a typewriter. There isn't even a carriage in a LaserJet printer, so how would one adjust the return? Maybe you should double check on the model number. Here's what a 2840 looks like http://images.google.com/images?q=hp\%202840
To be honest here Moe I think the printer is probably a 2840 but the person knows nothing about printers and even the description of the problem is probably not correct. What was probably done was someone adjust the carousel indexing which was probably off 1 or 2 teeth and the problem they were having was an image fade from left to right or right to left. Person is probably printing in landscape so they are describing it as from the top to the bottom of the page. I have a feeling my crystal ball is working on this one and the person needs to have the carousel reindexed again and also needs to make sure none of the toners has an issue which causes the issue to occur after 50 or 60 pages.
Well Im just relating what I was told by a technician at a place I bought refurbished toner from, which to be honest Im thinking started this problem as I never had it before. I tried to research this online and did see something about the carousel not being aligned, but I have no clue how to fix this and if it would be a permanent fix or not. The place insists the problem is not from any of their toners, but funny how they had the exact same problem as I did, on the exact same machine, the same time as me and they did admit to having bad chips on drums, whcih I also had one of their refurbished ones. Anyway, is there any way someone can describe to me how to fix this ([email protected]). I really like this printer and already have the newer version of it, which I dont like. This model is not sold in stores any longer so Id have to buy one online and take a chance it worked ok after I got it.
All I can tell you is to go to the link below and read what is said and download the manual if you want to try to fix it yourself or have someone do it for you. I guess my crystal ball is working tonight.
