JX9500

I have suddenly been getting the message
SERVICE(C5)
in the panel of my Sharp JX9500.
Any suggestions as to what is happening and what I need to do would be VERY helpful (I'm desperate to print out my lesson plans for school).
Many thanks
Paul
I don't have any service manuals for that model, but the recesses of my feeble old brain seem to remember that as a scanner motor error. I can't say I'm positive on that one. Listen to it when you power it up for the scanner motor spin up. If it's bad, it spins down and gives the error.

Thanks Moe!
Unfortunately I don't think that's the problem unless there is a time delay of a couple of minutes before the motor spins down again and the service message is displayed. What happens when I switch on is that it powers up as usual but with the ReADY display flashing together with a steady [LJ2] T. Then, after a couple of minutes the message SERVICE(C5) appears.
Any more ideas? or do you know who else I can ask.
Once again - many thanks
Paul

I was close, it's a main motor error.
