Hp HP LaserJet 4SI

PLEASE HELP, tried everuything for black streaks

I have a HP LaserJet 4si printer. When I acquired it, it had an original HP toner cartridge inside. This cartridge printed a gray background on the page. Opened it, cleaned it, still gray but not bad so I thought wiper blade is old.

I have since ordered two refurbished verbatim cartridges. The first one leaves a gray background except for the left margin, and the second one leaves a two separated gray streaks that are about 3 inches and 1 inch wide, 2 inches apart.

All I have read is this problem must be due to the toner cartridge, I am open to the possibility that I would need to try a fourth, but is there any other possible thing this may be? I cleaned the mirror, and I tried to clean the laser window but can't look at it to make sure.

Thank you very much for your help.
My personal record is 6 bad toner cartridges in a row. Keep trying as that's the only thing that would cause it. Of course, you could order some wiper blades and replace them yourself. Instructions are in the reference section of this site.

laserjet 4si is a very old printer. those brand name toner cartridges you purchased could have been on the shelf for a long time. you better off buying another reman toner cartridge from some place where they actually reman the cartridge themself so you know they've only been done recently.
