Hp HP LaserJet 4

Hp LJ 4+ error code 08

Hi
I get an 08 nuram init error code
when I turn the machine on
The message appears after it says warming up
any thoughts?

If I do a cold reset. turn off printer, hold online button on, turn on printer, hold button for about 10 seconds it comes to life.

this seems to be getting worse

Any info would be appreciated

Thanks
Steve
You may have a bad network card or RAM/PostScript chip, per this thread: http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/21877

On the right side of the printer, underneath the plastic panel, there's a door to access the RAM - remove all of the RAM sticks and and insert them one by one until you find the problem one. If that doesn't help, remove the network card if you have one and see if that helps.

Depending on what it is, the printer can probably function without it. If you find it can't, a replacement is probably available for under $20 on eBay or you can get one out of another printer.
