toner wash on margin-LaserWriter360
Hi, my trusty old LaserWriter Select 360 developed a wash of toner on the left margin.
I tried pulling the cartridge and tilting it, to no avail. It is continuous along the margin though sometimes it is wider than at others. Usually around 3/4 inch.
The cartridge is fairly new, and the text is crisp.
Any ideas appreciated,
Bonnie
Only 2 things can cause it. The cartridge or the fuser assy. Pull the cartridge out and look at the drum. If you see the problem there, it's a bad cartridge. If not, you'll have to take the top off (2 screws in front and 2 in back) and look at the fuser roller.
Thanks, Moe
I looked at the drum --opening the flap that the directions printed on the flap said NOT to open.
I could see an obvious streak of ink on it.
What next? new cartridge? :-(
That would fix it.
