HP Laserjet 4515n Printer Range Printing

When I have many pages, 1,503 and want to print just a range such as pages 1-10; the HP Laserjet 4515n starts printing page 1, however continues to print and the spooling goes up to the end. However, when I print a range on a shorter document such as 4 pages, the Range will print what I want such as pages 2-3. Any thoughts on why Range print does not work on large quantity pages?
