Epson V500 Poto Scanner won't turn on

I have had this wonderful scanner (Epson V500 Photo Scanner)since January of this year 2009. While using it today, one of the scans was not straight and I deleted the finished scan and set the image straight and clicked scan, again. Nothing happened. Although the scanner was plugged in, was turn on, and had been working for about an hour, it was no longer lighting up. I checked all the cords and connections and power and all were fine. I noted on the back that there is a 1.3 amp fuse listed. I am wondering if it could have blown. I would appreciate any replys with suggestions of what to do. I did purchase a replacement contract if something happened to it within a year. Thank you for your help.
You wasted money on the contract as Epson gives a one Year warranty on their products. But your best bet would be to contact the contract people and have them replace it.

Opening it can void your warranty. And you don't want that.

I also have a v500 with a similar problem. It did a prescan then all went dark.

I realize now that this is the wrong place for a scanner question but was wondering if you got yours repaired ? If so what was the problem with it and who did the repairs ??
