Epson Epson Stylus CX4800

Any way around my problem?? need help ASAP

I have an Epson CX4800, i have full black and blue ink. The magenta and yellow are low. I need to print something in black only and even though my black ink is full, because i have no magenta, its not letting me print ANYTHING! i only need to print in black! what can i do? is buying the magenta ink really the only way around this??? im on a time limit, is there anything I can do. i tried covering up the bottom part of the ink cartridge on the red, don't know if I was doing it right. anything on my computer in the controls I can do??
You need to replace the ink cartridge or reset the Magenta. Ink jet printers use composite black 99\% of the time. And the Magenta is needed in the process.

Also Resetting the magenta open your peinter to the risk of clogging. So you will need to replace the ink cartridge. Covering the ink cartridge does nothing as the chip stores the ink content info. There are no "eyes" link on Laser printers.
