HP 4M+ Toner Dumped Inside Printer

This Q regretably relates to my post of 11/24/08, "HP 4M+ Horizontal Lines."

I put the offending toner cartridge back in the machine in hopes of getting some data printed and the paper accordianed at the back of the printer before making the turn to go up. I opened it to clear. After removing the cartridge, I saw two piles of toner inside laying on the transfer roller. The tail of the paper page was left visible. Pulling did nothing. I opened the back and tried pulling. Nothing except a great deal of toner on my fingers from the paper. On closer inspection, the paper appeared to be glued (fused?) to the plastic at the turn point. Trying to clean up the mess before it got worse, I had to wipe the transfer roller and just about everything else in there.

So where am I now and what do I have to do? I don't want to dump the machine because it is a tank. First time I heard that was from an HP rep and your forum confirms it.

I'm very appreciative of your help.

sounds like you probably are going to need a new fuser and throw the cartridge as far away from your printer as possible. I dont think the repair kit is what you need probably a whole new fuser you can get them from partnow for about the same cost as the repair kit.
