Hp HP DeskJet 600

HP 4250 does not recognize Jetdirect

I added two jetdirect cards to this 4250 (one at a time) and the configuration page sees both EIO slots as Empty. There is also no provision in the menu to configure them. The 600 and 610 Jet directs both are seen in a 4200.
Could it be the 48K memory stick needs to be 64K ?
You can turn on the network function from the control panel. If there is none, then this is a non-network formatter. It has a chip for seeing the NIC's.

With the power off reove the formatter and open it up and make sure the eio riser board is fully seated into the connector. Have seen a couple where the riser board had become loose.

I think the chip for seeing the jetdirect is the firmware dimm.

A HP warranty tech fitted non-network model firmware into one of our Customer's network model. It stopped the printer recognising the jetdirect.
He fitted a formatter, firmware and jetdirect at the same time to fix a problem with the jetdirect card not being detected.
Just replacing the jetdirect would have solved the customer's problem.
Wrong firmware part number on partsurfer.

This was a few years ago, so I can't be 100\% sure that it was a 4250 though. Might have been a 4200/4300.
