Epson Epson Stylus Color 1520

Epson color stylus 1520

Grateful for advice re replacing cartridges.
Pressing the alt button for 3sec does not move cartridges along to enable me to replace them.
Any suggestions please?
Are ther any lights on or blinking other than the green light being on?

Many thanks for responding so quickly.
I have solved the problem by chance, I pressed the pause button so that it flashed and then found if I pressed the Alt button for 3 secs the cartriges moved into position so now ok.

I have another problem; although I set the printer to print at the highest setting it is only printing at the lower setting so i am getting thin vert lines down the page!!
Any suggestions please
Thanks again

Evenly spaced horizontal lines are not an unusual print defect when there is a problem with the quality settings or the color profiles. However, I don't remember ever seeing straight vertical lines (in the paper feed direction). Could you describe what kind of lines you are getting and what kind of spacing they have?

The lines are parallel to the short side of the A3 sheet they are spaced about half inch apart.I have new epson cartidges.I have had these lines before when printing a low resolution. As I said my previous post I now cannot get my printer to print in the highest setting for some reason.
thanks again

From your description you do have standard horizontal 'scan' lines. This particular model, using standard software, does have this problem on lower quality settings. Unfortunately, I've never seen this printer refuse to accept higher quality settings. If you can, you might try setting it up on another computer and seeing if it works there.
