Hp HP Color LaserJet 2840

wierd problems HP LaserJet P3005dn

Using Windows XP Pro. I have a printer that will display as little as 28MB to as much as 80MB on its screen. It will fail to print and display "Processing...." in return I will get a "This document failed to print" I have received USB error messages on the computer and a DIMM error on the printer screen once.

I also have an HP Color LaserJet 2840 that used to be installed locally which is now running on the network and off local computer.

I have checked to see if there is a service note on this printer and there appears to be none. I have pulled and reset the memory and after printing 1 short text document succesfully, I tried to print a pdf document and its still showing "Processing..." on the printer screen.

Can anyone send me in a direction? It appears I am chasing my tail here.

Thanks in advance
I would try a firmware upgrade...

Might help, might not, but it's a first step.

If that does not help the formatter might be bad.

There is a service note for the 3005 for a formatter issue that has a toshiba chip.

Thanks for the update. I already checked for that and it does not have the chip that needs the update. Right now I have a request from HP Tech Support. - rlbrl
Notice to all....I set the printer back for exchange due to it being the formatter.
