HPLJ4200 no longer instant printing

Our HP LJ 4200 used to print immediately when a job was sent, this is one of the special features of this printer noted by HP.
However, with the recent change of toner cartridge, the printer has to warm up before printing. It only has about 150,000 prints since we bought it in 2004, and it is not requesting service, so I am wondering if maybe the fuser or something is going... We have never used anything but HP toner.
I have seen a fuser cause this problem on the 4200. Does the print on the first page ghost or smear? After you've printed the first page and the fuser has warmed up, do the subsequent print jobs print faster?

No, that would just make it print slower, not take longer to warm up. - moe
Is it actually warming up or the data light blinking and taking time to start printing. The reason I ask is if you have a network card in the printer and it is a 615N card it can cause all sorts of funny things to happen. What happens if you go to the informatio menu and then print a configuration page does it also take a long time to print? When you print when it finally does start if the job is more than 1 page do they come out 1 after the other real fast? Just trying to get additional information.
