Epson Epson Stylus CX5400

Epson cx5400 all in one

I hate to throw something away if I can fix it, so hopefully one of you may be able to steer me in the right direction. My Epson cx5400 began skipping when printing and failing to print colors properly. I was told by Epson the printer head is no good and I need a new printer. If I can repair it myself, I'd rather do that since it seems such a waste to toss it in a landfill.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to go about repairing my printer?

Thanks.
