Epson Epson Stylus Photo 1200

Epson Stylus Photo 1200 odd error lights

I did post this earlier but didn't see it come up on the forums.

Inherited printer which had been sitting for years. Cleaned print heads, verified that there are no clogs by gently flushing heads with ammonia. Put 1 new colour and 1 refilled black cartridge back in. Now I get two solid ink out lights and a solid power light.

XP can see the printer but cannot communicate to it. Downloaded drivers for XP from UK site. Epson status monitor cannot find it.

SSC utility cannot see it.

Found service manual and adjustment program. Rechecked connections, all fine. Tried adjustment program. Garbled and hangs.

Tried every suggestion on this site.

Any thoughts
Looks like you may have a main board failure.

I wouldn't think that the mainboard failed because when I first got this printer, it worked fine, just needed headcleaning. It would only print cyan.

All these problems happened after i cleaned the print head. I didn't take anything apart except that part. So I can't see a board located somewhere else in the printer being damaged.
