Epson CX5400 Alternating 1/2" Color Bands

I have read the multiple postings on your website regarding the hose disconnection and head clogging on this model after replacement of the ink cartridges, resulting in printing or copying blank pages only. However, our situation is a little different. After replacing the 3 color ink cartridges, all pages printed or copied have a background or foreground printing (in addition to the printed text or pictures on the document)of alternating 1/2" horizontal rows or bands of the 3 colors: cyan, magenta and yellow. So, we seem to have too much color as opposed to the clogged head or tube/hose disconnection issue.

Of course, I have sent multiple e-mails to Epson support regarding this, to no avail. I have updated all applicable drivers for this model, no change. We have also gone through numerous head cleaning cycles as well. I can't seem to find anyone with this similar problem on any of the support sites. It seems that the opposite of printing blank pages is true. In this case, the black text and color pictures on a document print, but on top of or behind are these alternating horizontal color bands that are about 1/2" wide in the margin of the document. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated...this is driving me crazy!
