Epson Epson Stylus Photo 1200

Epson Aculaser C4100

Printer cost £1200 under 2yrs ago, out of warranty, replacement costs C4200 £574...

what do Epson want to repair...£475+vat!

what incentive is that to keep and not bin it!

And ppl wonder why re-cycling costs a fortune!

What's the fault? Might be able to help.

Sry missed yr reply.. Permanent jamming basically with high pitched squeal when jamming!

Paper is in section A before entering transfer section.

Jamming with a squeal like that is usually either caused by a seized fuser unit or the fuser drive assy has failed. Remove the fuser - 2 locking tabs - and try to rotate by hand, if its stiff then probable fuser failure, otherwise then the drive assembly has failed.

Thx for the info...

Have replaced fuser anyway, and everything seems to move freely,

but the squeal does sound like a motor failing etc, I dont know the mechanics..but that sounds like drive assembly failure cd be correct.

I seem to have the same problem. Once he is printing then there is no problem. But sometimes at the start of a print job, it makes a high sound, takes it paper and jams. Does this occurs with your printer also, or does it happen all the time?

Let me know if you need the firmware and update tool for the Epson AcuLaser C4100 or C3000.
