LW II NT error

Is a 10 year old Apple LaserWriter II NT still serviceable? Are parts still available?

I have one that was given to me because "it doesn't work." Everything else seems to be in order, but I get this error code: paper out & paper jamb lights both blinking (red)--and the fuser assembly never warms up.

Perhaps it is only the quartz heater bulb? Any suggestions? Is it possible to get a rebuilt fuser assembly unit anyplace? Or the necessary parts?

We were selling them for $49, but are temporarily out of them. If you look around the site, you'll find that 90\% of the time it's a bad power supply. We're also temporarily out of those as well.

Thanks. I did a bit broader search on your msg. database after I posted the first query and noted a number of similar comments.

How do I determine whether it is the power supply or the fuser assembly? In my case, I've never seen any sign of the heater bulb coming on (though I haven't tried to figure out how to start it with the cover open--I gather from other comments that it's possible), but there is certainly no warmth at all inside from the very beginning. It comes up with the two red lights flashing from the beginning.

Any idea as to when you will have new stock on any of these rebuild kits?

Your help is appreciated. Sure glad I found the web site.

Defeating the cover interlock is covered in our troubleshooting section. We're trying to hire more help to rebuild the stuff, but it's amazing how useless the techs that apply for work are. Maybe our standards are too high. The last two I tried out didn't make it a week between them. One had 4 years experience and the other claimed 20.
