HP 6L paper Jam and print issue

About a month ago, I installed your multi-feed kit on an HP 6L for my client and the printer worked fine. However, it now looks like that printer needs new fixing film and the client wasn't sure they wanted to put more money into this printer.

Since the client had another HP 6L with the multi-feed issue, I decided to move the new parts to this other printer. After doing this, when I go to print a test page, the paper feeds about 1/2 way and then the paper jam light comes on. If I puch the bottom button to resume the print, the paper continues to feed and prints 1st portion of the test page starting about 1/2 way down the page and then the amber light comes on again.

Any ideas on what I did wrong? I took the whole pickup roller assembly out of the other printer that was working, so I didn't expect to run into a problem.
