Epson Epson Stylus Photo 900

Epson Stylus Color 900 paper jam

Our two year old Epson Stylus Color 900 refuses to
feed in paper. It still does transparencies fine.
Paper always cants slightly to the right. The jamb
light comes on. Sometimes, if I push the paper VERY
slightly to the left at the exact instant it starts
to feed, I can get it to go in.

I flipped the paper thickness switch. No luck. I
bought the Epson printer cleaning sheets from
Epson. No luck. Our local computer service people
say that when anything goes wrong with an Epson,
you are supposed to throw it away. I love this
printer, but only when it works. Any ideas?

Look for something in the paper path, deep inside. I had, believe it or not, a moth wing in my Epson 500 that drove me nuts with intermittent paper jams till I found it. I finally found it stuck down around the slot just behind the printer head between the tiny rollers there. The transparency film may be stiff enough to push past whatever is in there, while the paper bends and gets stuck!
