Epson Epson Stylus Color 440

Which test page is more reliable?

I have an Epson Stylus 440. Its test page has a few gaps, but the Windows test page is perfect. Which one is a better indicator? While I would give more credence to a printer's own test page, Windows' looks more like something I'd print out.
Print a picture.

The self test goves a better indication of head function.

After a closer examination of the Windows test page, I do see sliver of a gap. But you have to look hard to see it.

I guess I'll print a picture and see what happens.

Run your printers cleaning cycle and see if it clears this problem....

Running the cleaning cycle wastes ink, and saturates the waste pad. (Of course that ink is so cheap that you do not mind wasting it, right?)

After you run multiple cleaning cycles the machine will be inclined to stop and tell you the waste pad is full, and then it won't do any more printing.

The head cleaning kit does not waste ink, or saturate the pad.
