Hp HP OfficeJet 7210

HP 7210 All In One Won't come ready

When I plug in the AC adapter to my HP 7210 it starts the power on process and the display goes green but none of the characters are visable. It seems to go through several cycles but the main power on light never comes on and the power on/off button does not function. The caution yellow light just flashed.

I need to know how to take this unit apart and see if I can find a problem with the power supply or cables or connections.

Any help would be appreciated.
Before you get out the screwdrivers do a reset. Press and hold the # and 3 buttons while plugging in the power.

Bert, I tried the #, 3 key and it did do something different since it did bring up the characters, " Partial Reset" on the display, but did nothing else after that. The power light would not come on and the power button has no effect. The display backlight was on but that was all. At least it did something, and some text was put to the display.

OK people...I have this same issue. I got ahold of HP support...via "chat"...which has been basically a waste of time. I did however find out that you can hold down the # key and the number 6 when you plug the unit in, and keep holding these keys until you get "semi reset" on the screen. Then I get an Error:0x8865e35e...which HP wont tell me how to clear.

Anyone have any ideas ?

Ok, my "Error:0x8865e35e" was a result of a lighting strike which reached the printer via the phone line. I have tried the all #3,6,and 9 reset options and I still get the green empty display and no functionality. Is it time for me to say good bye to the printer?
