Hp HP DeskJet 660CSE

HP 660Cse malfunction

When my HP 660Cse turns on, or is called to print,
it makes a horrible racket like dragging a card
over a comb, but much louder. This it does three
times and then prints as it should. Any ideas?

If your suggetion is the DeskJet CD, please give
me a phone number by which to order.

(I also have a HP 960c, but would still like the
old printer to function properly.)

Thanks.

First thing you need to try is lubricating the carriage rail with some light oil or silicon lube. I prefer the silicon lube.

It could be either the external power adapter or the controller board in the rear of the printer.
