Apple Laser Writer Select 360

My subject printer was working fine until today.

It's making a strange noise -- and of course it doesnÕt print.
It's just goes,"dong, dong, dong...." over and over again until I turn it off.
It's not really a "dong" sound but I don't know how to spell it.
It's a "Do-wingDo-wingDo-wingDo-wingDo-wingDo-wing...." kind of sound.

Being an engineer (retired) I suspect lint/dirt is causing the problem in a switch/circuit.
IÕd like to take a peek inside the cover (do some cleaning) before proceeding further.
Can you tell me the key to removing the cover w/o breaking the plastic snaps on the rear of same?

Thanks in advance for your support.

Open the lid. See the 2 screws? Remove the 2 screws. Cover will now lift off. You might have to remove the 2 screws holding the formatter board in the rear of the printer as well.
